Tiffany Haddish’s attempt to have her long-running DUI case dismissed has hit a roadblock after prosecutors urged a judge to keep the case moving forward.
According to newly filed court documents obtained by TMZ, Georgia prosecutors are opposing the actress and comedian’s request to throw out charges connected to her January 2022 DUI arrest in Peachtree City.
Haddish’s legal team recently argued that the case has dragged on for more than four years, unfairly affecting both her personal life and career. They claimed the lengthy delay has caused professional setbacks and restricted her ability to travel internationally.
However, prosecutors contend that Haddish has failed to provide evidence proving the delay caused significant harm.
While acknowledging that the passage of time weighs against the state, prosecutors argue the delay was not intentional and should not be enough to justify dismissing the case.

They also challenged Haddish’s claim that she aggressively pursued a speedy resolution, arguing that although she expressed readiness for trial, she never formally demanded an immediate trial under Georgia law.
In their filing, prosecutors took issue with Haddish’s assertions that the unresolved case has damaged her entertainment career. They argued she has not presented specific evidence showing she lost jobs or was prevented from entering foreign countries because of the pending charges.
The state further noted that Haddish has remained free while the case has been pending and has not been incarcerated.
As for claims that the prolonged legal battle caused stress and anxiety, prosecutors argued those concerns are common among criminal defendants and do not justify dismissing a case.
The latest legal clash comes weeks after Haddish secured a partial victory in court when a judge ruled that one field sobriety test and certain statements connected to her arrest could not be used as evidence.
Despite that win, prosecutors maintain there is still sufficient reason for the case to proceed.
The judge has not yet ruled on Haddish’s request to dismiss the charges.
