The Power universe is expanding once again, with Starz officially ordering a new spinoff that reunites two of the franchise’s most popular characters.
The network has greenlit an eight-episode series titled Power: Legacy, bringing back Michael Rainey Jr. as Tariq St. Patrick and Joseph Sikora as Tommy Egan.
The upcoming series marks the fifth spinoff in the long-running crime drama franchise and will see Tommy return to New York City, where he joins forces with Tariq in a bid to dominate the streets.
According to the show’s official synopsis, the pair will work together as they attempt to “take the city by storm,” setting the stage for a high-stakes new chapter in the Power saga.

The announcement may not come as a complete surprise to longtime fans. The future of Tariq’s story was teased during a post-credits scene in the 2024 finale of Power Book II: Ghost.
Further hints arrived in January 2026 when Tariq appeared in the series finale of Power Book IV: Force, setting up the long-awaited partnership with Tommy.
Executive producer Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson described the new project as the biggest chapter yet in the franchise.
“Power never dies, and this chapter is our biggest yet,” Jackson said. “Fans have been waiting to see Tariq and Tommy together, and now they’re taking over New York City.”
Kathryn Busby, president of original programming at Starz, said the network was responding directly to audience demand.
“The fans have spoken, and we listened,” Busby said, adding that the franchise continues to evolve while remaining one of television’s most influential crime drama brands.

Veteran Power writer and producer Gary Lennon will serve as showrunner. Lennon co-wrote the pilot alongside Kendra Chapman Davis, with both also joining the executive production team. Sikora will executive produce the series, while Rainey Jr. takes on a producing role.
The wider Power Universe remains under the creative leadership of franchise creator Courtney A. Kemp, alongside Jackson and producer Mark Canton.
Power: Legacy arrives as the franchise continues to grow. Power Book III: Raising Kanan returns for its fifth and final season on June 12, while Power: Origins, which explores the early years of Ghost and Tommy, is currently in production.
With Tariq and Tommy finally sharing the screen as partners, fans can expect one of the most anticipated storylines in the history of the Power franchise.
