The family of the late rapper, DMX, has warned of scammers who are trying to make cash out of the funeral saying they have all funeral expenses covered.

The family has revealed that they are certainly not cash strapped and are not asking the public to chip in for burial costs and if you see anything online saying otherwise… it’s a total scam.

X’s family revealed to TMZ that there has been a lot of rumours making rounds after the death of the rapper last Friday at a hospital in New York. Some of the most absurd rumors is that the family’s inner circle was raising money to help pay up for his funeral.

The family has distanced itself from any online campaign suggesting that people should donate towards the burial cost of DMX.

Another rumor that has been crushed is that, Beyoncé and JayZ bought DMX’s masters for $10 million and gave it back to the kids for free to make sure that his kids can reap the profits down the line. The family has set the record straight saying that’s not true.

X‘s masters aren’t in play with Beyoncé and JayZ at all, however, some are still under Def Jam control but aren’t owned by JayZ.

Meanwhile the rapper is being honored in unofficial ways. Some of his fans created a makeshift memorial outside the hospital he die. The Mayor of his hometown, Yonkers, has suggested that the family should hold a public memorial at the famous raceway.

Funeral arrangements are still being finalized.
