Contrary to rapper Meg the Stallion’s claim that she suffered multiple gunshot wounds on the night of Tory Lanez’s arrest, the Los Angeles Police Department says the rapper never said she was a victim during the ordeal .
After Lanez’s arrest for gun concealment, it had been initially reported that Meg was had been taken to hospital to get her injured foot, suspected to have been cut by broken glass, treated.
However, in Instagram post, Meg claimed that she had been the victim of a shooting by people who intended to do her harm.
“On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me,” she wrote.
“I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets.
“I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night.”
Meg, who recently topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart this year with her Beyoncé-assisted remix of Savage, went on to describe the incident as an eye-opener.
“This whole experience was an eye opener and a blessing in disguise. I hate that it took this experience for me to learn how to protect my energy.”
However, in a statement, a LAPD spokesperson said Meg had not alluded to the fact that she was a victim at the time of the incident.
“At the time Megan Thee [Stallion] was with police she did not report that she was the victim of any crime. And the LAPD has not received any additional information at this time,” the statement reads.
Meg’s best friend, Kelsey Nicole, also issued a statement to refute rumors that she shot the rapper. “I want to clear up the rumors that I shot Megan. I WASN’T the one with the gun and would never do something like that. However I was present.”
