Sean “Diddy” Combs’ projected release date from federal prison has moved up to February 6, 2028, according to the latest reporting on Bureau of Prisons records. His previous projected date was March 2, 2028.
The change brings his expected release forward by more than three weeks. It is an update to his projected release date, not a new sentence handed down by a judge. The reason for the latest adjustment has not been publicly explained.
Release date changed after prison transfer
Combs was recently transferred from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania. The Bureau of Prisons confirmed the move but said it does not discuss the circumstances behind individual inmates’ placements. A representative for Combs also said the decision was made by the bureau and that they could not comment on the reasons.

The release date had been listed as March 2 after an earlier adjustment pushed it back. The BOP has not said why it has now moved forward to February 6. Projected release dates can change during a federal sentence, but there has been no confirmation that this latest revision is linked to Combs’ transfer.
Combs is serving a 50-month sentence
Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison in October 2025 after a jury found him guilty on two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution. The jury acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and sex-trafficking charges.

His projected release date has shifted several times since sentencing. Those changes have included both earlier and later dates, and the BOP has not publicly explained the latest adjustment. Combs is also appealing his conviction and sentence; the appeal is a separate process from the release-date update.
