A county official confirmed Mitte’s death to TMZ, saying the actor died in Texas on Monday. The outlet reported that his death was by suicide.

Law enforcement officials said the investigation remained ongoing. Further details about the circumstances surrounding his death had not been released at the time of publication.

Remembered as Walter White Jr

Mitte became widely recognised for portraying Walter White Jr, also known as Flynn, in AMC’s award-winning series Breaking Bad.

His character was the son of chemistry teacher-turned-drug manufacturer Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, and Skyler White, portrayed by Anna Gunn.

Like his character, Mitte had cerebral palsy. He frequently used his public platform to campaign for better representation of disabled performers within the entertainment industry.

The actor previously argued that disabled performers deserved opportunities to play a wider range of characters rather than being restricted to roles defined entirely by disability.

Career beyond ‘Breaking Bad’

Following his breakthrough role, Mitte appeared in several television programmes and films, including The Oak Room, The Recall, Triumph and Netflix’s The Guardians of Justice.

He also appeared in the family drama Switched at Birth and worked as a producer on several projects.

Earlier in October, Mitte reunited with Breaking Bad co-star Luis Moncada, who played Marco Salamanca in the series. Photographs shared on social media showed the two actors smiling together.

Engaged to Kennedy Suarez

Mitte was engaged to his longtime partner, Kennedy Suarez. He reportedly proposed in 2025 following several years of dating.

No public statement from Suarez, Mitte’s family or his representatives had been released when the news first emerged.

His death prompted tributes from Breaking Bad viewers and disability campaigners who remembered both his performance in the acclaimed drama and his advocacy for greater inclusion in Hollywood.
