DJ Akademiks has challenged Meek Mill to come to his home after the rapper threatened to confront him in person, escalating their long-running feud following Lil Durk’s acquittal.
The latest confrontation began when Meek criticised Akademiks’ influence on hip-hop culture and accused the media personality of profiting from destructive narratives involving Black artists.
Meek also urged fans to “mute” Akademiks and threatened to pull up at his house so that the pair could finally settle a dispute that has continued for years.
Akademiks invites Meek to his home
Rather than attempting to calm the situation, Akademiks publicly encouraged Meek to follow through with his threat.

The streamer shared footage appearing to show his collection of firearms and repeatedly invited the Philadelphia rapper to visit his property.
Akademiks’ response appeared designed to mock Meek’s threat while warning that he was prepared to defend his home. Neither man has indicated that an actual meeting has been arranged.
The increasingly hostile exchange has alarmed some fans, who fear that an online argument could develop into a dangerous real-world confrontation.
Lil Durk verdict reignites feud
The dispute resurfaced after a federal jury acquitted Lil Durk of charges connected to an alleged murder-for-hire plot targeting rival rapper Quando Rondo.

Meek used the verdict to attack media personalities who, in his view, treated Durk as guilty before his case had been decided.
He singled out Akademiks and accused him of damaging hip-hop by amplifying criminal allegations, internet feuds and controversial figures for attention and financial gain.
Akademiks rejected the criticism and responded by revisiting allegations and controversies involving Meek, reigniting a feud that had recently become less prominent.
Feud stretches back several years
Meek and Akademiks have exchanged insults and accusations for much of the past decade.
Their relationship deteriorated as Akademiks covered Meek’s disputes with other rappers, including Drake, Nicki Minaj and 6ix9ine. Meek has frequently accused the commentator of exploiting violence and conflict within hip-hop while avoiding the consequences faced by the artists involved.

Akademiks has maintained that he is a journalist and commentator reporting on events created by rappers themselves. He has also accused Meek of attempting to intimidate critics whenever he dislikes their coverage.
Their conflict became particularly heated in 2020, when Meek called for Akademiks to be removed from hip-hop platforms. Akademiks responded by promising to stop covering the rapper before their public arguments eventually resumed.
The latest exchange suggests that neither side is ready to end the feud. However, the display of weapons and references to visiting a private residence have shifted the dispute beyond the usual social-media insults, prompting renewed calls for both men to de-escalate.
