Ugandan General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has sparked fresh controversy after posting a bizarre message on social media demanding that Jay-Z “surrender” Beyoncé to him.
Kainerugaba, the son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, made the comments in a post on X that was later deleted.
In the message, the outspoken military figure claimed Jay-Z had one week to hand over his wife before he would escalate the matter in dramatic fashion.
“I’m giving Jay-Z one week to surrender my wife to me. Or else I take this matter to the UN,” Kainerugaba wrote.
He also suggested he would fight the rap mogul for Beyoncé’s affection if his demand was ignored.
The latest remarks are not the first time Kainerugaba has publicly expressed his admiration for the global music superstar.
In 2025, he made several similar posts about Beyoncé, although they attracted far less international attention than his latest comments.
Kainerugaba has become well known for his provocative activity on X, where his posts have frequently generated controversy both inside and outside Uganda.
Over the years, some of his online remarks have reportedly created diplomatic headaches for the Ugandan government, forcing him to delete posts and, in some cases, issue public apologies.
His latest comments have once again drawn widespread attention online, with many social media users questioning why such statements were made by one of Uganda’s most senior military figures.
Neither Beyoncé nor Jay-Z has publicly responded to the posts.
There is also no indication that the couple has acknowledged Kainerugaba’s comments.
Despite repeated controversies surrounding his social media activity, Kainerugaba remains one of Uganda’s most closely watched public figures, with his posts regularly attracting international headlines.
For now, the unusual challenge directed at one of music’s most famous couples appears to be nothing more than another controversial social media episode, but it has once again placed the Ugandan general at the centre of global attention.
