Canadian singer The Weeknd has announced his plans to release a new album this coming Friday.

The star took to social media to tease his fans with details of ‘Dawn FM’, revealing that his upcoming album will feature comedian Jim Carrey.

He posted a voice clip which said, “You are listening to 103.5: Dawn FM. You’ve been in the dark for way too long, it’s time to walk into the light and accept your fate with open arms.”

The voice in the clip continued and he referred the upcoming album as a ‘new sonic universe from the mind of The Weeknd’.

The 31-year-old star whose real name is Abel Tesfaye has previously worked with greats like Quincy Jones, Tyler the Creator and Lil Wayne.

59-year-old Jim has already listened to the album and says he’s ‘thrilled’ to be involved in the project.

Posting on twitter he wrote, “I listened to Dawn FM with my good friend Abel @theweeknd last night. It was deep and elegant and it danced me around the room. I’m thrilled to play a part in his symphony.”
