With his campaign for re-election in November swinging into full gear, President Donald Trump has been temporarily suspended from Twitch, with the streaming platform flagging him for hateful conduct.

Twitch, which is owned by Amazon, cited Trump’s June 19 Tulsa rally, where the president described a disturbing hypothetical in which “a very tough hombre is breaking into the window of a young woman whose husband is away” as one of the reasons for the ban.

Hombre is a word that refers to a Spanish or Hispanic man.

Another incident was from a rebroadcast of Trump’s 2015 campaign announcement speech, in which he infamously said of Mexican immigrants, “They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

After banning the popular streamer Dr DisRespect, the next person on Twitch’s ban list was none other than the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump.

“Hateful conduct is not allowed on Twitch,” a Twitch spokeswoman said in a statement. “In line with our policies, President Trump’s channel has been issued a temporary suspension from Twitch for comments made on stream, and the offending content has been removed.”

The suspension, whose length is not yet known, comes after another Trump related page on Reddit, “The_Donald,”, was pulled down because of hateful content.

Reddit’s chief executive, Steve Huffman, told reporters that the group had broken the site’s rules against allowing targeted harassment and hate speech.

Reddit said it was banning about 2,000 subreddits – discussions dedicated to specific topics – most of which are inactive. “All communities on Reddit must abide by our content policy in good faith,” Huffman said in a post on the site on Monday.

“We banned r/The_Donald because it has not done so, despite every opportunity.

“Ultimately, it’s our responsibility to support our communities by taking stronger action against those who try to weaponise parts of Reddit against other people.” Daily Mast
