Teen pop star Billie Eilish has managed to extend by three years a restraining order given in May against a fan that she accused of obsessive behavior, some of which she believed endangered her family to Covid-19.
Superior Court Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman, sitting in Los Angeles on Thursday, agreed to extend the restraining order against Prenell Rousseau.
Last month, the 24-year-old from New York was banned from attempting to contact or coming within 100 yards of the 18-year-old pop star or her parents.
Rousseau appeared at the home Eilish shares with her parents seven times on 4 and 5 May before being arrested for trespassing.
On his first occasion, Rousseau allegedly rang the doorbell at the family’s home before enquiring if this was were Eilish lived. After he received a negative answer, he still did not leave.
“While we waited for security, Mr Rousseau remained on our porch, sat down and began to read a book, while also continuing to engage in a periodic monologue,” she said in her court submission.
“My father repeatedly asked him to leave, but he refused.” The family was particularly fearful of Rousseau because he did not wear a face mask or practice social distancing.
