Golf legend Tiger Woods survived a car crash on Tuesday and has had surgery for multiple fractures of his right leg.

The area where he crashed however is known as a very dangerous spot where a number of vehicles have lost control in the past…. and actually features a safety net to help prevent these crashes.

Tiger’s 2021 Genesis GV80 vehicle lost control and rolled over in the Rancho Palos Verdes and Rolling Hills Estate.

TMZ spoke to locals who live in the surrounding areas and were told the same thing by almost every one that, ‘it’s a gnarly bend that catches up with you if you’re going too fast and unfamiliar with the area.’

As for where Woods crashed, it’s a massive downhill grade that cuts into a tough turn. There have been more fatal accidents on that very same spot.

Tiger rolled over right at the apex of the turn. It is not a surprise to a lot of folks who are familiar with the road who say it’s incredibly easy to pick up speed as you’re zooming down, even without accelerating.

As if that’s not enough, the area has a runaway rump built-in to help vehicles that have lost control and need an emergency slow-down.

Tiger Woods is “awake and responsive” following surgery on serious leg injuries suffered in a car crash in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

It’s made of thick gravel, but that just goes to show that the place is not really friendly for drivers.

The speed limit for the place is 45 MPH but the Sheriff’s office said they have clocked on people going as fast as 80MPH or even higher.

Apart from the crash, Tiger was recently reported to have over speeding out of the hotel shortly before the crash.
