Three-time Emmy nominated actress Conchata Ferell has passed away at the age of 77 of complications resulting from cardiac arrest.

Ferell died peacefully surrounded by family at the Sherman Oaks Hospital on Monday.

Confirming news of her death to CNN, her manager, Dan Spilo, remembered Ferrell, whose credits included roles in TV series like Two and a Half Men and films like “Edward Scissorhands”, as a “wonderful, kind-hearted, strong woman,”

He added: “She will be missed,” he said.

Ferrell probably is best known for her role as no-nonsense housekeeper Berta on the hit CBS comedy Two and a Half Men.

“She was a beautiful human,” said fellow Two and a Half Men star Jon Cryer. “I’m crying for the woman I’ll miss, and the joy she brought so many.”

Added fellow Men star Charlie Sheen, “An absolute sweetheart, a consummate pro, a genuine friend. Berta, your housekeeping was a tad suspect, your ‘people’ keeping was perfect.”

Charlie Sheen also paid tribute, describing Ferell as “an absolute sweetheart, a consummate pro, a genuine friend [and] a shocking and painful loss”.

He also wrote: “Berta, your housekeeping was a tad suspect, your ‘people’ keeping was perfect.”
Two and a Half Men co-creator Chuck Lorre noted that everybody on the show “all loved her”.

“Twelve years of highs and lows, and lots and lots of laughter,” he said. “Through it all she was a rock. One of the greats. I was privileged to call her a friend.”
